Pupils in Robins were recently awarded certifcates for a competition they entered to create a diary entry for Guy Fawkes. Pupils had a choice of writing from the morning or afternoon after of his arrest as he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in his famous gunpowder plot on 4 November 1605.

The school was asked to send our four best entries - Abigail Clark, Liam Wallace, Sophie Naisbett and Thomas Clark - with Abi scooping 3rd prize overall and winning a £10 Amazon voucher!

Abi said: “I am really happy and I can’t wait to spend my voucher.”

Mrs Ribchester said: "It is wonderful to win a prize in a writing competition. This demonstrates how good our writing skills are in Years 2 and 3."

David Langthorne from The Education Network who sponsored the competition said: “It was great to see the variety of entries from all different year groups. There were some fantastic entries from Years 3 to 6. This was proven when Abi in Year 3 won third prize."

Well done to all Robins who took part who have now all learned how to write a diary entry.
