Our Year 2 children are really enjoying this term's DT topic which explores mechanisms.
After learning about sliders last week, the children were introduced to the lever mechanism. The class began by watching a lever mechanism video and discussing the key points from the video, explaining the term pivot point.
Together the children read lever mechanism instructions and followed them to make two examples. After making the models, we asked the children to explore the mechanisms and describe how they work. They all shared their products and discussed how they had successfully used the mechanism. Great work!
