A group of our pupils grabbed their spades and joined forces with community volunteers in Addison Park for a tree-planting event organised by the Friends of Addison Park.
Together, they planted 50 native trees - rowan, dogwood, crab apple, elder, and hazel - provided by The Conservation Volunteers’ (TCV) 'I Dig Trees' programme.
Each tree planted during the afternoon has been marked by the children so they can monitor the ones they personally planted and follow their growth and development.
Friends of Addison Park thanked students and said: “The day’s collaborative efforts not only enriched biodiversity of the local environment but also fostered a sense of community and environmental stewardship among the participants”.
